Gabrielle Louise performs at The D Note in Arvada, and we release the complete videotapes of the Leadville Emergency Declaration Meeting held February 13, 2008.

For World Water Day, Colorado singer/songwriter Gabrielle Louise will perform at The D Note in Arvada, CO, on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 7:30 pm. She will be accompanied by Joe Skala on bass. Gabrielle Louise will feature her new protest song, Save the Arkansas, and kick off a petition signing party to raise awareness in Washington, DC about the continuing threat of an environmental disaster centered around the Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel.

The song, Save the Arkansas, can be downloaded here.

Also, in observance of World Water Day, this website will be releasing a 7-part series of videotapes covering the entire proceedings of the Leadville Emergency Declaration Meeting held February 13, 2008.

The decision to call the meeting was a difficult one for the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. In moving forward, they called upon key community stakeholders to testify at the meeting and answer questions from Leadville residents who attended.

These tapes reveal a group problem-solving process that had reached a boiling point in dealing with non-responsive state and Federal agencies.

In a never-seen-before interview that was videotaped before the meeting, Commissioner Ken Olsen expresses his concerns and outrage, and provides an overview of the dangers facing Leadville. Double-click the play button to start the clip.
